About me
I’m a researcher in computer science. I work as a post-doctoral researcher at the Institute of Networks and Security at Johannes Kepler University (JKU) Linz. Previously, I was a researcher and lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria (within the Embedded Systems Lab and the JRC u’smile).
My main research interests are security and privacy in embedded devices with special focus on digital identities and related technologies (such as smart cards and NFC), and the Android platform. I had my first experiences with NFC and contactless smart cards during an internship at NXP Semiconductors in 2007. I’m co-author of “Anwendungen und Technik von Near Field Communication (NFC)”, the first comprehensive book on NFC technology (in German). I received my Ph.D. (Dr. techn.) degree in computer science from Johannes Kepler University Linz, Austria. Before, I received my B.Sc. degree (in Hardware/Software Systems Engineering) and my M.Sc. degree (in Embedded Systems Design) from the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria at Hagenberg.
